Sergel Hub

Right by Sergels Torg at Sveavägen 10A, one of Stockholm's most interesting event venues opened in autumn 2021. Sergel Hub – operated by the Stureplansgruppen – houses 2,500 sqm of modern, flexible event spaces in the former SEB bank vault, built in 1963. It is a venue with history, character and an outstanding location: five minutes' walk from T-Centralen and Stockholm Central Station.

The old bank vault has a fascinating history. The building was erected in 1963–66 after the Klara district was demolished, designed by architect Kjell Ödeen. In the 1970s, Stockholm's only drive-in bank operated from the building's garage. SEB departed in 2017 and after a thorough transformation, Sergel Hub opened in 2021 – and the venue still welcomes vehicles directly through its entrance.

The main space is called Bankvalvet (the Bank Vault) – 610 sqm with a 5 m ceiling height, a 25-metre open live kitchen and a maximum capacity of 800 standing or 500 seated guests. Bankvalvet is where most of our productions take place. Forum at 350 sqm is a mid-sized space that works excellently for conferences, presentations and mingling, and can be combined with Bankvalvet for flow-based events. The six Bankfacken (Bank Safe Deposit boxes) are smaller rooms suited for workshops, press rooms, greenrooms or parallel sessions.

We have been producing events at Sergel Hub since the opening in 2021 and are one of the suppliers who know the venue best.

What we can offer for your event at Sergel Hub

Here we have set out the services we typically offer to clients organising events at Sergel Hub.

Sound technology

Sergel Hub has a basic installed sound system, but most professional events require a customised external solution. The 5 m ceiling height and neutral proportions of Bankvalvet work well acoustically with correct speaker placement. We deliver PA systems adapted for everything from conference speech to DJ setups, live band equipment and hybrid events with remote participants.

Lighting technology

Bankvalvet's height and neutral walls provide excellent conditions for creative lighting. We rig in moving fixtures, LED installations and atmospheric lighting that transform the historic vault into a scenographic space. Many of our Sergel Hub productions use lighting as the primary decorative element – a cost-effective way to give the venue a strong visual character without heavy set design.

Video technology

For Google's conferences at Sergel Hub we ran a solution with multiple parallel stages and presentations in different areas of Bankvalvet simultaneously – a solution that requires well-coordinated video mixing and control. We deliver LED screens, projectors, Watchout media servers, camera solutions and presentation technology tailored to the venue's dimensions and the event format.

Décor

Our décor department delivers stages, carpeting, furniture and set designs that interact with Bankvalvet's historic industrial character. This can mean a clean conference stage, an awards ceremony setup, a gala dinner with full table setting or a trade show-style exhibition. Bankvalvet can be sectioned off with fabric solutions for a more intimate atmosphere as needed.

Carpentry

Our carpentry workshop produces bespoke solutions that elevate EDGE's deliveries at Sergel Hub – stage front cladding, entrance portals, display walls, podiums and decorative installations. In a venue with as strong a brand character as Sergel Hub, the carpentry contribution is important in giving each event a distinct visual expression.

Print

The print department delivers banners, vinyl wraps, cut-out logos and branding suited to Sergel Hub's spaces. The high walls of Bankvalvet and Forum's neutral surfaces provide excellent opportunities for large-scale graphic branding. We have produced branded entrances, stage backdrops and vinyl-wrapped elements for a wide range of brands.

Content & Graphics

An LED screen in Bankvalvet or a multi-screen solution is only as good as the graphic material being shown. Our content and graphics department produces run files in the correct format and resolution and ensures all material is delivered properly – from presentation films and background images to animated logos and live graphics.

Project management

We have produced a large number of events at Sergel Hub since its opening in 2021 and are thoroughly familiar with the venue's conditions, the house team and the time constraints of a central city location. Our project managers coordinate EDGE's delivery seamlessly with Sergel Hub's own production team – and with you as the client.

Transport & Logistics

A central city location requires careful logistics planning. Sergel Hub has the ability to receive vehicles directly into the entrance, which helps with load-in. We transport our equipment with our own trucks and trailers from our warehouse in Sollentuna and always plan transport well in advance with a detailed logistics schedule.

Concept & Visualisation

Sergel Hub's open floor plan and flexible space combinations make visualisation especially meaningful – it is easy to think creatively about the space but difficult to communicate it without 3D floor plans. We always produce scaled drawings and 3D visualisations showing how the spaces are furnished, decorated and technically equipped for your specific event.

Pre-programming

In popular, tightly booked city venues like Sergel Hub, on-site time is always at a premium. Pre-programming video and lighting at our studio in Sollentuna is an effective way to arrive fully prepared and maximise quality within the available build hours.
