Estrella Damm at Sónar Nobelberget
Sónar, a festival founded in 1994 in Barcelona, has since been staged around the world – from Reykjavik to Cape Town. In 2014 it came to Stockholm for the first time, initially at Münchenbryggeriet before moving to Stockholm Waterfront the following year. For the festival's third Stockholm edition in 2016, the organisers chose the raw club and concert venue Nobelberget in Sickla.
Ahead of the 2016 festival, we were commissioned by Perfect Noise / A Skillfull Crowd to design a setting and branding for the main sponsor, Estrella Damm.
Our solution was large illuminated wooden hexagons placed throughout the venue. At the main stage, a massive installation of nine hexagons was built, reaching almost eight metres high. The lower hexagons had built-in tables and seating where festival-goers could enjoy a cold Estrella. The upper hexagons served as decorative elements, filled with neon lights, mannequins and Estrella logos.
