Estrella Damm at Sónar Nobelberget
Sónar, a festival founded in 1994 in Barcelona, has since been held all over the world. From Reykjavik to Cape Town. In 2014, it first came to Stockholm and was first held at the Münchenbryggeriet before being moved to the Stockholm Waterfront the following year. When it was time for the festival's third edition in Stockholm in 2016, the rather rough club and concert venue Nobelberget in Sickla was chosen.
Ahead of the 2016 festival, we were commissioned by our friends at Perfect Noise / A Skillfull Crowd to design a setting and branding for the festival, which took care of the main sponsor and sender Estrella Damm.
Our solution was large illuminated wooden hexagons that we placed around the premises. A massive installation with nine hexagons was built at the main stage, growing almost eight meters high. The hexagons at the bottom had built-in tables and sofas where festival-goers could enjoy a cold Estrella. The hexagons above served as decorative elements and were filled with neon lights, mannequins and Estrella logos.
