Google Sessions in Almedalen

Since 2016, through our client Utsikt Kommunikation, we have helped Google establish its Google Sessions concept during Almedalen Week on Gotland.

Google Sessions is a seminar series about the impact of digitalisation on current social issues. Each year politicians, companies and organisations are invited for open discussions in a temporary pop-up environment at Hästgatan 1 in Almedalen.

The brief is a complete solution. We begin by installing a large polycarbonate channel sheet roof over the entire area – normally a car park. We then build a stage and set design, bars and lounge environments across the 500 sqm courtyard, and finally rig a complete technical solution for presentations and panel discussions with sound, light and video.

Our delivery

For this project we delivered:

  • Sound

    A capable but unobtrusive PA system, wireless microphones and audio mixing. Read more about sound

    Stage lighting and functional and ambient lighting in the lounge areas. Read more about light

  • Video & LED

    Presentation technology for the stage with a presentation screen, preview monitors, video mixer and computers for running presentations and video. Read more about video & led

  • Decor & Set Design

    The entire lounge area is furnished and decorated with clean, considered stage furnishings. Read more about decor & set design

  • Carpentry

    Google Sessions Almedalen is one of the carpentry team's more substantial projects. The polycarbonate channel sheet roof, stage wall and set design, entrance framing, bars and custom lounge environments are all produced and assembled on site. Read more about carpentry

  • Print

    Branding on the inside and outside of Google Sessions – vinyl wraps, cut-out logos and printed messaging on various materials. Read more about print
