Effe Emme is an Italian medical device manufacturer specialising in hemodialysis and infusion therapy – an obvious exhibitor at the 61st ERA Congress, Europe's largest nephrology gathering, held at Stockholmsmässan in May 2024 with around nine thousand delegates on site.

On behalf of the Italian design agency Sharingidea Co-Factory, we built a custom booth in which wood carried the whole feel. A six-by-five-metre floor in rod-glued pine with lamello joints and a satin clear coat laid the foundation. From it rose a four-metre wood portal in the same material, built in three modular sections so it could be shipped from our workshop in Sollentuna and assembled on site. Between the portal legs we inlaid a foil-wrapped forex element carrying the client's logo in die-cut foil.

A custom-built display box with an integrated storage section framed the product display – three plexiglass-fronted niches with indirect LED light behind them. All visible sides of the box were vinyl-wrapped following Sharingidea's artwork, and inside the storage section we mounted shelves, a coat rack and a refrigerator so the booth staff had everything close at hand and out of sight.

We added a spray-painted wall and floor element in MDF based on Effe Emme's own sketch, two large planters in the same rod-glued pine as the floor and portal, lounge armchairs, round glass tables and live plants. Lighting came from a flown black truss above the entire footprint.

Thanks to Sharingidea Co-Factory and Effe Emme for trusting us with your booth in Stockholm – until next time!
