Gala format in a hockey arena

Södertälje Idrottsgala 2025 was a brand-new gala – the first edition of Länstidningen Södertälje's and Bonnier's annual celebration of local athletes, leaders and grass-roots volunteers, arranged together with Södertälje municipality and Telge as part of the Year of Sport 2025. On behalf of Bonnier News we delivered the full technical production for the gala night at Scaniarinken on 19 February, hosted by TV personality Jessica Almenäs with Liamoo and Jacqueline on stage.

As production partner we covered stage, lighting, sound, video and camera production. The stage was built twelve by six metres with stairs from front centre, back and side, and dressed with a black speaker plinth, a black stage skirt and a pleated backdrop. In the truss rig above the stage we set our Edgetron fixtures as front light from the truss towers alongside spot and wash, and ran an RGBW LED strip along the stage front. Our LED wall was fed in parallel to the arena's existing jumbotrons so the entire audience could follow the programme, and we ran camera production through a Flightpack 4M/E alongside Bonnier's own vision mixer and camera operator.

Thanks to Bonnier News, Länstidningen Södertälje and all partners for trusting us with the first edition of Södertälje Idrottsgala – until next time!

Sports galas and corporate events in arenas – a recurring brief for us

Producing full evenings in ice rinks and indoor arenas is something we do regularly. Tur-spelen for PwC at Stadium Arena is a similar setup that's documented here on the site, and we ran the same concept earlier at ABB Arena in Västerås. We're at home in both straight sports productions and corporate events in arena environments – we've delivered ATEA's national team training camp at Vinnarhallen on Bosön for several years, and we've also produced events for Dustin at the same venue. At Stockholm Stadium we've built events for ATEA and Out of Office, at 3Arena we've delivered Snowflake World Tour, events for Daniel Wellington and several editions of the Tele2 Awards, and at Strawberry Arena we've produced a Christmas party for KPMG and a conference for Telia.
